Heirloom
wicker, woven
for tiny hands.

Each piece is hand-woven by third-generation makers in Banda — slow, considered, and built to be passed down. Bassinets that become reading nooks. Toy chests that become memory keepers.

— The Atelier —

Slowly woven, thoughtfully rooted.

We began in 2019 with a single rocking chair, a great-grandmother's pattern, and a question: what would children's furniture look like if we made it to last a century? Spice Islands Wicker is our answer — pieces woven in Banda, finished in Brooklyn, and shipped in materials we'd happily keep.

Every order plants three rattan saplings on the islands where our makers live and work.

M / 01

Heirloom rattan,
cut at maturity.

We harvest only mature rattan — at least eight years old — from co-op forests on the Banda Islands. No bleaching. No varnish. Just hand-burnished cane that ages like leather.

M / 02

Cotton linings,
milled in Bandung.

Soft, breathable, and naturally dyed in small batches with turmeric, indigo, and mangosteen rind. Removable, washable, and built to soften with use.

Finishes that
aren't finishes.

We refuse polyurethane and synthetic stains. Where surfaces are sealed, we use beeswax pressed by a co-op in Sumba. Safe for tiny hands, lips, and curiosities.
